Commanders select Penn State RB Kaytron Allen in 2026 NFL Draft
The Commanders select Penn State's all-time leading rusher.
With the No. 187 overall pick in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, the Washington Commanders selected Penn State running back Kaytron Allen. The 5-foot-11, 216-pound Allen is the all-time leading rusher at Penn State, which, considering the school's history, is extremely impressive.
As a freshman in 2022, Allen rushed for 867 yards and 10 touchdowns. In 2023, Allen rushed for 902 yards and six touchdowns, earning second-team All-Big Ten honors. In 2024, Allen rushed for 1,108 yards and eight touchdowns.
Last season, Allen rushed for a career-high 1,303 yards and 15 touchdowns. He was named first-team All-Big Ten and third-team All-American. Allen did not post any testing numbers, but he's best known for his size, vision and patience.
He also takes care of the football. Allen is not going to give you a ton in the passing game. Allen joins a Washington running backs room, featuring Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Jeremy McNichols, Jerome Ford and Rachaad White.
