Dametrious Crownover out of Texas A&M was brought in with the 196th overall pick to bolster the team’s depth at the position.

Let’s grade the pick. Instant grades: Patriots draft OT Dametrious Crownover 196th overall Bernd Buchmasser: The Patriots went for the double-dip at offensive tackle, and for a massive human being. Crownover stands at 6-foot-7, 319 pounds with 35 3/8-inch arms.

It will be seen what kind of role he will earn on the roster, but at the very least he gives New England a physical specimen to possibly develop into a longterm swing tackle behind future starting pair Will Campbell and Caleb Lomu. | Grade: B+ Pat Lane: The Patriots address tackle again in the sixth round, this time taking Crownover. They were lacking depth at the tackle position last season, and that is no longer a problem after taking two in the draft so far.

Crownover has fantastic size and length and decent athleticism. He’s a bit of a project, but he should be a perfect swing tackle for them for the future, and, potentially, a starting tackle if either Lomu or Campbell need to move inside | Grade: B- Matt St. Jean: You can never have enough bodies on the offensive line, and the Patriots double-dipped at tackle for the second year in a row.
