The Los Angeles Chargers selected Arizona safety Genesis Smith with the 131st overall pick in the fourth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.

Smith is the second Wildcats defensive back to go off the board, joining Treydan Stukes , who was selected 38th overall by the Las Vegas Raiders. Genesis Smith is headed to LA ✈️ pic. twitter.

As a junior, Smith posted 77 tackles to go with one interception and two forced fumbles. Smith earned Third Team All-Big 12 honors.

The Chandler, Ariz. native committed to Arizona in 2022. He remained with the program after former UA coach Jedd Fisch left for Washington.
