Ohio State DT Kayden McDonald 'emotional' after being picked by Texans
Ohio State defensive tackle Kayden McDonald had to wait until Day 2 to hear his name called in the NFL draft, but it was all worth it in the end.
The NFL draft can bring an array of emotions for young men who are experiencing a dream come true. That was certainly true of Ohio State defensive tackle Kayden McDonald on Friday night after the Houston Texans traded up to draft the All-American with the No. 36 pick.
The space eater for the Buckeyes was present in the green room on Thursday evening, with many projecting that he would be gone by the late first round. But Thursday came and went without McDonald hearing his name called. Back again on Friday, it wouldn't take long before Roger Goodell would announce his selection by the Texans , and when he did, the floodgates opened.
"It's emotional, man," McDonald said during the moving moment. "I know I'm supposed to be here. I'm just so blessed.
I'm just so thankful. I'm just so emotional, like, where I came from. It's a blessing.
