Friday Seacoast Standout: Oyster River boys lacrosse junior shines in win

HUDSON - Junior Jefferey Keyes had three goals and seven assists as the Oyster River High School boys lacrosse team beat Alvirne, 20-0 in a Division II contest on Friday, April 24. Keyes was named Friday's Seacoast Standout Athlete of the Day. Oyster River improved to 3-2 on the season.

"He knows how to push from behind, and then find the guys in front of the net so he can get those goals and assists. " Keyes, who led Oyster River in points last year as a sophomore, scored two quick goals against Alvirne, opening up opportunities for others. "As soon as (Alvirne) saw him running toward the net, everybody crashed down," McKenna said.
"And then he has the ability to keep his eyes up and make a good pass to someone in front of the net. We kind of start everything through him, and he can dictate which side we're pushing to try to get the ball moving. " Keyes now has 11 goals and 17 assists in Oyster River's first five games of the season.
