The veteran edge rusher enjoyed a career-best season in 2025, posting 7. 5 sacks and 10 tackles for a loss in his first season with New England. However, the Patriots passed on re-signing Chaisson in favor of signing edge rusher Dre'Mont Jones away from the Baltimore Ravens.
Chaisson eventually signed a one-year, $11 million deal with the Washington Commanders. This week, Chaisson shared a clip of the moment his agent informed him that New England would move on. The agent also told Chaisson why the Patriots let him walk.
"Just giving you a heads up, I talked to the Patriots -- I've been trying to get them to make an offer on you," the agent told Chaisson. " ... There thing was, ‘We love K’Lavon, we just need somebody that plays the run a little bit better.
