Saints remaining 2026 NFL Draft team needs heading into Day 3

The New Orleans Saints left the first two days of the 2026 NFL Draft having addressed several key positions of need. They selected Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson with the eighth overall pick, strengthened their interior with defensive tackle Christen Miller, and added a valuable asset in Georgia tight end Oscar Delp. General Manager Mickey Loomis has made crucial moves, but as the draft transitions to the final rounds on Saturday, there are still several spots on the depth chart that require attention.

The most pressing need for New Orleans lies in the secondary. Although this year's draft features a strong class of defensive backs, the Saints have not yet addressed the cornerback position. Losing Alontae Taylor to the Tennessee Titans in free agency was a significant setback, making it even more important for the team to strengthen the secondary.

High-motor prospects that align with the New Orleans Saints' vision will likely be prioritized when they make their first pick on Day 3 at No. 132. Tennessee's Jermod McCoy has generated considerable attention during the draft, having fallen from a once-projected top-15 pick in the first round all the way to Day 3.

There are concerns regarding his surgically repaired knee, but the later rounds of the NFL Draft often involve taking risks — and McCoy could be a risk worth taking. Another player to keep an eye on is Charles Demmings, a cornerback from Stephen F. Austin, who has been steadily rising in the pre-draft rankings.
