Rams got exactly who they wanted on Day 2 with Max Klare and Keagen Trost
Les Snead says the Rams wrote down Max Klare and Keagen Trost as their ideal scenario before Day 2 started, and that's exactly who they got.
Teams always go into the draft hoping to come away with specific players, ideally without having to trade up. The Los Angeles Rams entered Friday night with the goal of adding a tight end and bolstering the offensive line. Lo and behold, thatโs exactly what they did.
Les Snead said in his press conference after the third round that the Rams went into the day having written down two names: Max Klare at No. 61 and Keagen Trost at No. 93.
They nailed both picks , coming away with each player at those exact spots. Hereโs what Snead said when asked whether the Rams anticipated them both being available. โThe board fell our way for us to pick them, but where they were on the board, there was an intentionality there based on talking about the 13-personnel and the versatility that he has and then that the third offensive tackle,โ Snead said.
โTo be honest with you, that was scenario number one that we wrote down tonight is Klare with pick 61 and Trost at 93. We talked about trading back, but we didn't do that. That was scenario one and it worked out for us.
