The WNBA's biggest stars are back, with the 2026 preseason opening Saturday in New York as the Liberty host the Fever. It's a battle of Big Threes at Barclays Center as Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston lead Indiana against Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu and Jonquel Jones to begin the run-up to the new season. Stewart should need the least seasoning of anyone on the court.
The veteran just helped Fenerbahce win the EuroLeague women's title last weekend on the heels of an Unrivaled championship with Mist BC. Even in the preseason, though, all eyes will be on Clark. The Fever superstar played in just 13 games last year thanks to a variety of injury issues and is focused on her health entering 2026.
One new wrinkle on that end is Clark plans to run the point less often this season, with Mitchell and rookie Raven Johnson likely to take on more ballhandling to reduce the wear and tear on Clark. That will be one element to watch during the preseason, but all that really matters for W fans is basketball is back. Here's how to watch Saturday's game.
