The New Orleans Saints have selected tight end Oscar Delp with the No. 73 overall pick in Round 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft, adding yet another explosive weapon for quarterback Tyler Shough as the team continues to invest heavily on the offensive side of the ball. We’ll once again break down the selection, share our thoughts on the fit, and hand out an initial grade for the Saints’ newest addition.
Grade: B- The Saints adding Oscar Delp brings another dimension to the team’s passing offense. An extremely athletic player at the position, Delp shows a natural ability to separate and create mismatches as a receiver. His limited college production can be a concern, but the traits and upside are clearly there.
He also has areas to improve as a blocker, though that can be developed with coaching at the next level. Learning alongside Juwan Johnson and Noah Fant could be a major benefit, especially since the receiving aspect of the position is already one of his strengths. Delp should have an opportunity to earn early snaps in two-tight end sets and obvious passing situations.
