Kendall Wells breaks OU softball single-season home run record, Sooners set team NCAA mark
OU's Kendall Wells hit her 35th homer, setting a new single-season program record and an NCAA team record.
NORMAN — Kendall Wells made more history. Wells crushed a first-pitch, 230-foot homer to give Oklahoma a 1-0 lead at Love's Field on Friday. The big fly — her 35th — sets a new single-season OU record.
Wells previously tied Jocelyn Alo’s 34 last weekend. The homer also set a new NCAA single-season team record as it was the Sooners ’ 162nd of the season. The Bogart, Georgia, native set a new NCAA Division I softball record for home runs as a freshman when she hit her 31st two weekends ago at Texas.
