The New York Giants have shrugged off criticism about chairman Steve Tisch appearing in the team's war room during the 2026 NFL draft.

New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen addressed questions about chairman Steve Tisch's presence in the team's draft war room on Thursday night during the first round of the 2026 NFL draft. Schoen, joined by coach John Harbaugh on Friday night, confirmed Tisch's attendance when asked by reporters. "He's the chairman of the team," Schoen said.

"He's in the draft room like he is every year. " The comment came amid ongoing attention surrounding Tisch following the release of 2013 emails detailing his past association with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. Tisch issued a statement in January expressing regret over the correspondence, which involved discussions of adult women, movies, philanthropy, and investments.

Tisch has denied visiting Epsteinโ€™s island or accepting certain invitations. Tisch and his siblings recently transferred their stake in the franchise to a trust for their children, as announced by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in early April. Although the family is no longer listed as owners, Tisch retains his title as chairman.

Co-owner John Mara was present in the war room on Night 1 and Night 2. While he was not shown on the broadcast during the first round, the team later released draft room photos confirming his attendance. He was also visible on the live broadcast on Night 2.
