The Boston Celtics continue to be overlooked in the championship race
The Boston Celtics have spent all season proving people wrong, and the playoffs should be no different
Joe Mazzulla and the Boston Celtics spent this season proving everyone wrong. They weren't supposed to be this good, not during this season at least. However, a slight alteration to the team's offensive system and some hardline coaching to begin the campaign ensured Boston found its footing early and never looked back.
That's why the Celtics were able to cement themselves as the second seed in the Eastern Conference. Yet even now, with Jayson Tatum back in the rotation and playing like an All-NBA talent, the Celtics are still viewed as a team that's playing with house money. After all, this was supposed to be a gap year.
Yet, despite the lower-than-normal expectations, Mazzulla's team has consistently proven that it's operating at a championship level. In a recent video from the "DFlowHoops" YouTube channel, the host breaks down why the Celtics are still being overlooked as potential championship contenders, and why that can work to their favor as they continue to navigate their way through the Eastern Conference.
