Now, among many Liverpool supporters even the mere mention of his name leaves a sour taste. How quickly and dramatically Slot's stock has fallen is not entirely his fault. He is just the head-coach of the club and things are not all in his control.
Slot helps with the decision making when it comes to recruitment but ultimately it's in the hands of Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards. Liverpool's recruitment does leave question marks, and it's not Slot's fault that the squad he won the Premier League title with last season is vastly different now and completely imbalanced. It's also out of his control how unprecedented Liverpool's injury crisis has been.
