‘Meant to be’: Kadyn Proctor has the perfect tattoo for a top Dolphins draft pick

MIAMI GARDENS — Before Kadyn Proctor was ever drafted by the Miami Dolphins, he already had the perfect tattoo for his professional team. Along the knuckles on his right hand, Proctor, the Dolphins’ top pick at the No. 12 selection in the NFL draft Thursday night, he has 1972 inked onto his skin.

That’s a significant year for the Dolphins, their famous perfect season, but it has meaning to Proctor for different reasons. “1972 is for (the birthyear of) my stepdad,” Proctor said Friday afternoon at Dolphins headquarters, as his introductory press conference was held a day after his selection. “He’s been in my life the whole way through, helped raise me, been in the house.

I’ve been living with him my whole life. ” The massive 6-foot-7, 352-pound blocker also knows why it’s special to football aficionados in Miami. “I suppose it was meant to be,” he said.

Proctor also has 2005 tattooed on the knuckles on his left hand for his own birth year. Proctor turns 21 on June 4.
