Report: Saints among teams exploring trade up in Round 2 of 2026 draft

Yahoo Sports

Six of the last seven picks in Round 1 were traded, and it sounds like more movement is expected early in Round 2. The Saints are in the mix.

Round 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft is set to kick off, and NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the San Francisco 49ers are already receiving calls from teams interested in moving up to No. 33. And Pelissero adds the New Orleans Saints are among those callers, along with the Miami Dolphins (No.

43), the Cleveland Browns (No. 39), and the Jacksonville Jaguars (No. 56).

New Orleans picks at No. 42 and their surplus of mid-round picks in Rounds 4 and 5 could give them an edge over their competition. As for who they're targeting?

Look no further than the prospects remaining in the green room. That group includes Ohio State nose tackle Kayden McDonald, expected to go "in the first five to ten picks of Round 2. " Tennessee cornerback Colton Hood is another potential trade target, as is his college teammate Jermod McCoy, who fell out of Round 1 due to injury concerns after missing the entire 2025 season with a surgically repaired knee.
