If their playoff run continues for a while, they won't have to make a decision on Trevor Zegras yet. Eventually, Zegras will come to the forefront. The talented forward is going to be a restricted free agent this offseason.
The Flyers will have some control over where he ends up, but they'll still have to reach a contract agreement with him. Most likely, the Flyers and Zegras will reach a positive conclusion. But nothing is a sure thing until it happens.
There are at least a few questions to be answered, but Matt Larkin of Daily Faceoff writes in a new article that he thinks a deal will get done eventually. "Is Zegras a winger or a center? He’s spent time in both spots this season, and how the Flyers perceive him might determine how much money and term he gets," Larkin writes.
