What are the Vikings' needs heading into Day 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft?

The Minnesota Vikings still have several needs to address heading into Day 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft on Friday.

To the surprise of many, the Minnesota Vikings drafted Florida defensive tackle Caleb Banks with the 18th overall pick on Thursday night. Many believed there were other needs to address, and players with more value , but the Vikings opted for the 6'6", 327-pound behemoth. Fortunately, the Vikings still have eight more picks in the draft, with three coming during rounds 2 and 3 on Friday night.

They will have opportunities to address their needs, and these positions have some depth, so the Vikings can still get instant contributors as the draft plays out. Minnesota still has needs at the following positions: Running back Wide receiver Center Linebacker Cornerback Safety There will be opportunities to address most of these positions when the Vikings pick on Friday night. Minnesota will still need to do its due diligence in building its draft board to find the best player available, but it doesn't necessarily need to reach to address these needs, either.

The second round begins Friday night at 6:00 P. M. CST/7:00 P.
