Having started his career without a loss, Steveson is now bringing his growing skillset to the Octagon. He has officially joined the UFC and is scheduled to debut during International Fight Week in July, which could be headlined by Conor McGregor’s long-awaited return.
Though he only has three MMA bouts under his belt, one former champion has already spoken up with a strong opinion about what lies ahead for him. That performance opened the door for his move to the UFC.
With one of the most impressive wrestling backgrounds you could ask for, plenty of people believe the 25-year-old will make an immediate impact at the top level. His mentor Jon Jones has even gone as far as to say that Steveson could win a title before the end of 2026. Steveson doesn’t lack self-belief either.
He’s said he feels ready to compete with current heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, as well as interim title hopefuls Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane. Tyron Woodley has doubled down on that belief. The former welterweight champion recently stated that Steveson would dominate Aspinall if they faced off right now.
