Ex-Michigan assistant Paige Shiver says Sherrone Moore got her pregnant
Paige Shiver, the woman Sherrone Moore had a years-long affair with, sat down with "Good Morning America" to tell her side of the story.
Paige Shiver, the former executive assistant to Michigan football's ex-coach Sherrone Moore, said Moore had "complete control" over both her emotions and her career, he "used it against" her and that he impregnated her. Shiver, whose lip quivered as she spoke with "Good Morning America," said she wanted to keep the baby, but doctors explained there were complications due to Pompe disease, which is a genetic disorder that weakens muscle strength. “Multiple doctors and experts told me that it wouldn’t be right or healthy for me to keep the baby,” Shiver said.
“Yeah (I wanted to keep the baby) … (Moore) said, ‘You have to do what’s right for your body. ’” Moore, 40, was fired on Wednesday, Dec. 10, after Shiver told Michigan higher-ups that she and Moore had been involved in an affair, which, according to her interview, lasted nearly four years.
Moore was arrested later that afternoon after he made his way into her home uninvited and threatened his own life with butter knives and a pair of kitchen scissors. Shiver, who sat down with GMA, said the relationship was an "open secret" within the athletic department. "Every time I tried to pull away ...
he always had a way to pull me in and make me feel that I couldn't leave him because he was so miserable without me," Shiver told GMA, breaking her silence after more than four months of Moore's arrest making headline news. Moore avoided jail time earlier this month, when a judge sentenced him on criminal charges stemming from the arrest, which was the fifth time Moore was in court since his arrest on Dec. 10.
