EFL permutations: Who needs what with two games to go? The business end of the season has arrived, with promotion, Play-Off places and survival still on the line across the EFL Championship, EFL League One and EFL League Two. With just two matches remaining, hereโs whatโs at stake heading into Matchweek 45.
Championship Automatic promotion Coventry City have been crowned champions after their 5-1 victory over Portsmouth on Tuesday, securing the title just a week after sealing promotion to the Premier League. The fight for the second automatic promotion place remains wide open between Millwall, Ipswich Town, Southampton and Middlesbrough - and it wonโt be settled this weekend. Millwall and Ipswich are currently level on 79 points, although Millwall have played a game more.
Play-Off race Millwall and Ipswich are guaranteed at least a Play-Off place. Southampton sit fourth on 76 points, level with Middlesbrough on goal difference, while Wrexham currently hold the final Play-Off spot - just ahead of Hull City on goal difference alone. Expect movement here before the final day.
Relegation Sheffield Wednesday and Leicester City have already been relegated. Oxford United are now the side in real danger of joining them this weekend. They sit six points from safety and could be relegated before kicking off if Charlton avoid defeat against Hull City in the early match.
League One Automatic promotion Lincoln City secured the League One title on Tuesday night with a 2-0 win at Doncaster. Cardiff City have also confirmed their return to the Championship at the first attempt. That leaves the Play-Offs as the remaining route up.
