Chelsea placed 10th with a 786. Williams separated himself from the field with a spectacular second round, finishing at even-par 144 to claim medalist honors. His opening round [77] was steady but uneven.

He birdied Holes 1 and 7 but was offset by double bogeys on 6 and 9. On the back, he added a birdie on 13 but again ran into trouble with a double on 16, finishing with a 38 on the inward nine. Then came the second round.

After a solid 38 on the front, highlighted by a birdie on No. 3, Williams caught absolute fire on the back nine. He birdied Holes 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 in a stunning stretch, shooting a 7-under 29 on the inward nine to close with a 67 and run away with the tournament.
