The San Francisco 49ers had a busy first night of the NFL draft, and added a pick in the process. Here's what picks they hold going into Day 2.
The San Francisco 49ers had an eventful first night of the NFL draft despite not making a pick. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported leading up to the draft that San Francisco was going to try and move back from their scheduled No. 27 overall pick.
They accomplished that in a trade with the Miami Dolphins where they sent out a fourth-round pick to snag the 30th and 90th selections from Miami. Then they moved down again , sending the 30th pick to the New York Jets in exchange for the 33rd and 179th picks. The 49ers went from one Day 1 pick to zero, one Day 2 pick to three, and they still have four picks on Day 3.
Here's an updated list of the 49ers' 2026 draft picks: Round 2, Pick 33 (via NYJ) Round 2, Pick 58 Round 3, Pick 90 (via MIA) Round 4, Pick 127 Round 4, Pick 133 (compensatory) Round 4, Pick 139 (compensatory) Round 5, Pick 179 (compensatory via NYJ) The 49ers now have seven overall picks instead of six. They'll be busy early on Day 2, holding the second pick in the second round. Day 2 of the draft will contain Rounds 2 and 3, and it starts Friday at 4:00pm Pacific Time.
