The current scandal surrounding New England Patriots ' head coach Mike Vrabel and former NFL insider Dianna Russini is drawing plenty of attention, and the NFL may not think it's a great look for the league.
Vrabel is one of the most recognizable coaches in the league, and just led a team to the Super Bowl. Affairs of a rumor are not a good look for him or the NFL, but before the NFL Draft, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell basically confirmed that the league will not step in and take action. "This is not a personal conduct policy...
as we know it today," Goodell told Mike Greenberg before the draft. "It's a personal matter, and we'll leave it at that. " "I think the teams handle these matters when they're personal matters, and they have a lot more information that can benefit everyone involved," Goodell noted when asked if the league would take any action.
Vrabel's alleged affair with Russini does not violate the league's personal conduct policy, and did not cross any lines in regard to his role as a head coach. However, Russini crossed some lines in her profession and has since resigned from The Athletic. Photos of Vrabel and Russini at a luxury hotel in Arizona surfaced earlier this month .
