The first offensive lineman off the board, the Browns traded down with the Kansas City Chiefs , adding two picks later in the draft , and still were able to get the first tackle off the board.

Fano was seen as the safest prospect on the offensive line this year. While he doesn’t have the longest arms, he is technically sound and very athletic. This year’s draft has a number of other tackles that were available, with higher upsides, but Fano had the highest floor of all of them.

At the NFL combine, Cleveland GM Andrew Berry talked about how the Chicago Bears revamped their offensive line last year and how the Baltimore Ravens line was successful with different types of players. During free agency, Berry added a number of offensive linemen and retained Teven Jenkins . The Browns also have Dawand Jones looking to return from injuries .

With Fano in place, Cleveland’s offensive line continues its changes from last year.
