Despite a lot of smoke about a trade in the 2026 NFL Draft the New Orleans Saints opted to stay put and pick Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson.

Whew. Here it is -- despite a lot of smoke about trading up in the 2026 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints opted to stay put and select Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson. One of the most talented wideouts in the entire draft class, Tyson's career was interrupted by injuries; a nasty knee injury ended his freshman year at Colorado , and he dealt with a collarbone and hamstring issues at ASU.

But when healthy, there haven't been many receivers as productive as him. Tyson is one of three FBS receivers with at least 1,800 receiving yards and 18 touchdown catches over the last two years put together. He's special.

And Tyson will be a huge upgrade on the New Orleans depth chart behind Chris Olave. Guys like Devaughn Vele and Ja'Lynn Polk have their fans, but the Saints needed someone with bona fide star power to help second-year quarterback Tyler Shough play his best football. They believed that guy was Tyson.

Now we're going to see if they were right. This article originally appeared on Saints Wire: 2026 NFL Draft: Saints stay put, select Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson
