Tennessee forward Nate Ament declares for 2026 NBA Draft after freshman season

Ament could be a lottery pick, but also may have improved his draft stock by playing one more college season.

Tennessee freshman forward Nate Ament will forgo his final three years of college basketball eligibility and declare for the 2026 NBA Draft. He made the announcement in a post to his Instagram account on Thursday, one day before the deadline to declare. Ament, 6-foot-10, was the Volunteers’ second-leading scorer this past season, averaging 16.

7 points, 6. 3 rebounds and 2. 3 assists per game.

He also shot 33% on 3-point attempts. “I want to dedicate this post to my Vol family,” Ament wrote for his Instagram post . “Your guys love and support is a huge reason I have this opportunity.
