Cowboys can't trade WR George Pickens until this happens
Dallas can’t move George Pickens just yet, even if it wanted to.
Dallas Cowboys' pre-draft press conferences aren't normally all that newsworthy. This time, they dropped a bombshell on everyone. During Wednesday's presser , Cowboys' COO, Stephen Jones, casually let the world know that Dallas had ended contract negotiations with polarizing receiver George Pickens.
Pickens is left with three options. One, he can stay away from the club for the foreseeable future and risk damaging the trust and reputation he's begun to rebuild with the Cowboys last season. The second, sign the franchise tag and play out the season with Dallas, proving to front offices he can handle a big payday and still maintain good behavior.
Thirdly, he can request a trade, something news outlets like ESPN and CBSSports have started talking about. "If the Cowboys get a second round pick for George Pickens. ...
And they draft a receiver tonight, that's a good job by their front office. " @danorlovsky7 expects the Cowboys to shake up their WR room during the NFL draft 👀 pic. twitter.
