After being linked to the Warriors potential head coach opening, Todd Golden appears committed to coaching the Florida Gators.

While everyone awaits Steve Kerr's looming decision about a potential return to the sideline, different names are being floated as potential heirs for the Golden State Warriors' head coaching position. An early name linked to the Warriors has been from the college ranks, Florida Gators head coach Todd Golden. Kevin O'Connor of Yahoo Sports reported the Warriors could potentially pursue Golden if Kerr decides to leave Golden State this offseason.

However, when speaking to members of the media recently, Golden recently shot down speculation linking him to the NBA level. When asked if he would be back next season with the Gators, Golden responded, saying it was "an interesting question. " However, he quickly followed, saying, "I'm definitely planning on coaching the Gators.

1 seed Gators are coming off a second-round exit loss to the No. 9 seed Iowa Hawkeyes. Prior to their loss in the round of 32, the Gators won the 2025 National Championship, the first Florida championship since Billy Donovan led the Gators to back-to-back titles in 2006 and 2007.
