Could both teams help each other out?

Red Sox and Phillies trade pitch would attempt to fix both teams, but hurt Philadelphia in long term originally appeared on The Sporting News . Many teams around Major League Baseball have somewhat struggled to start the year, but at the top of that list includes the Philadelphia Phillies and the Boston Red Sox .

The unfortunate reality for both teams is that they were expected to be two of the better teams in baseball, but that simply hasn't been the case. There's probably more to worry about for the Phillies than for the Red Sox, as Boston at least has a lot of young players, and its core hasn't been together as long as Philadelphia's. Regardless, a recent trade proposal would move on from some players to try to fix everything that's going on, though I don't necessarily agree that it would make a lot of sense for the Phillies, as they would only be getting Jarren Duran in return.

Phillies Acquire: Duran Red Sox Acquire: Andrew Painter, Cade Obermueller, Devin Saltiban “The Red Sox would make this trade because they’re prioritizing long-term pitching upside over inconsistent short-term MLB production, especially in a season where they’re 9–13 and tied for 4th in the AL East with the Toronto Blue Jays ,” Ryan Shea of SI wrote . Not to say that Duran isn't a good player and can't be a big help to what the Phillies need, as I do think he'd be a perfect player to target in some sense. However, moving on from Painter would be an absolute disaster, and I believe the first month or so of this season has shown the Phillies why they absolutely can't do that.

The Phillies are not good enough to make some crazy all-in move, as it just doesn't make sense. Painter's the future of this organization and needs to be viewed as such.
