The Yankees are 15-9 and in first place in the American League East, coming away with a win in the first two games of the three-game set. However, despite the Yankees being in a much better position than Boston to start the season, New York slugger Giancarlo Stanton also understands that while the Red Sox might be struggling, it doesn't matter where they sit in the standings, as he and the team understand that they're going to give it their all, and these series are typically tough.
“It’s always a fun rivalry game, no matter where each team is in the standings,” Stanton said , per the Post. “It’s just a good experience, a good pure baseball place to play. You’ve got to raise your game in those types of situations.
” It's always cool to hear players show respect for each other, including between two organizations. The Red Sox and Yankees might be the biggest rivalry in all of sports, but there still seems to be a level of respect for what players and fans mean to each city. Stanton seemingly threw a little bit of a shot at the Red Sox there, which is pretty hilarious, but he didn't mean it in any bad harm.
