Nate Danielson Detroit Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman revealed that 2023 first-round pick Nate Danielson has a lower body injury that makes him iffy for the American Hockey League playoffs. Yzerman was not specific about the injury, but the word is Danielson has a hip issue.
“There’s a possibility if the team went deep, that we might see him return, but he’s dealing with a lower-body injury that ultimately needs to simply needs time and rest,” Yzerman said. Yzerman said Danielson’s chances of playing in the the playoffs are “maybe. ” “But my anticipation, or my expectation at this stage, is he continues to rest and rehab,” Yzerman said.
“He’s improving. Is he cleared to play prior to the end of the season? Maybe, but we expect him to be 100% healthy for September (Red Wings training camp).
” Danielson, who played 28 games with Detroit before being returned to Grand Rapids in January, hasn’t played an AHL game since Feb. 18. In 18 games with the Griffins, Danielson has three goals and 12 assists for 15 points this season.
