Berks baseball: Exeter scores four in bottom of seventh to beat Governor Mifflin
Jake Franek singled in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as Exeter rallied from a 3-0 deficit to beat Governor Mifflin 4-3 in a BCIAA Division 1 baseball game on Wednesday. The Mustangs scored three runs in the top of the fifth to take a 3-0 lead, but the Eagles won the game in the seventh when winning pitcher Mason Goodhart singled in a run to make it 3-1. He then scored on a double by Xavier Jacobs to make it 3-2.
Freshman Brayden Downes, hitting ninth, singled in Jacobs to tie the game and scored the winning run on Franekโs single. Also for the Eagles (11-4, 7-3 Division 1), Jake Hafer had two hits, including a triple. Goodhard went the distance, striking out five and giving up six hits over seven innings with one earned run.
For the Mustangs (7-9, 4-5), Cameron Zurawski hit a two-run home run. Wilson 11, Twin Valley 0, five innings Ben Kulp homered, went 3 for 5 and knocked in five runs as Wilson rolled to an 11-0 victory over Twin Valley on Wednesday. Kulp was also the winning pitcher, striking out seven and allowing just three hits over five innings.
He threw 78 pitches, 47 for strikes. Tim Lengle went 3 for 3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Wilson is 13-3, 9-0 Divisioin 1; Twin Valley drops to 7-7, 5-4 Division 2.
Daniel Boone 11, Fleetwood 0, five innings Maddox Roy doubled and had three RBIs as Daniel Boone defeated Fleetwood 11-0 in five innings on Wednesday. Greyson Bell threw four innings of no-hit ball, striking out five and walking just one. Sophomore Josh Mills pitched the fifth, getting three strikeout and giving up two hits.
