One of the area's top tournaments is scheduled for this weekend when St. Joseph Academy hosts the South Jersey Classic. Top-ranked Gloucester and No.
2 St. Joseph lead the field, which also includes Donovan Catholic, Kingsway, Gloucester County Tech, Haddon Township and Audubon. Donovan Catholic head coach Debbie Schwartz is two wins shy of 800 for her career.
She would join South Plainfield's Dan Panzarella in the 800-win club. Panzarella set the state record with 848 victories when he retired in 2024 after 43 seasons. Schwartz won 501 games at Toms River East before taking over at Donovan Catholic.
The tournament's championship game is slated for Sunday at 1 p. m. Here are the area's latest rankings.
