Connor McDavid shares injury update after brief scare vs Ducks
Connor McDavid eased injury fears after a brief scare in Game 2 of the 2026 NHL playoffs against the Anaheim Ducks. The Edmonton Oilers captain left the ice in the second period but returned to finish the game. The incident came early in the second when McDavid got tangled with teammate Mattias Ekholm and Ducks defenseman Ian Moore.
His right leg appeared to buckle after catching an edge. He skated off in discomfort and went to the locker room. McDavid later downplayed the concern.
“Yeah, just rolled up on it a little bit. It’s fine,” he said when asked about the play. He returned in the second period and logged more than 24 minutes.
Despite finishing the game, McDavid struggled to impact the scoresheet. He remains without a point through two games in the series. It marks only the fifth time in his playoff career that he has gone scoreless in back-to-back games.
