NFL Draft profile and projection for tight end Will Kacmarek
Full NFL Draft profile for tight end Will Kacmarek of the Ohio State University Buckeyes
The Ohio State Buckeyes have a good chance to pull off an impressive feat this year: getting two tight ends selected in the NFL Draft. It's pretty rare, both because tight ends don't often go high in the Draft, and also because it's very uncommon for teams to have multiple elite tight ends. But that's what the Buckeyes have this year.
Max Klare is going to be a relatively high draft pick as a pass-catching tight end. And Will Kacmarek is looking likely to get drafted as an impressive edge blocker. Will Kacmarek, Tight End Draft Projection: Rounds 5-UDFA Most mock drafts and scouts have Kacmarek going in the later rounds.
He's a strong blocker in the running game, and he had a few impressive catches in big moments to the end of the season, showing the NFL he's a potential threat in the passing game, too. Some draft boards, though, including PFF's subscriber-only one, have Kacmarek falling out of the draft entirely. He showed plenty in college, and he's up there among the better tight ends, but if we only see 15-20 tight ends taken in the draft, he's going to have a hard time hearing his name on the stage in Pittsburgh.
He showed a lot more that NFL teams are interested in as his senior season went on, so I think he has a good chance to make it into the Draft. But he's not a guarantee. This article originally appeared on Buckeyes Wire: NFL Draft profile and projection
