That doesn't mean they shouldn't draft a quarterback at some point, though. It's probably worth continuing to take swings to see if they connect. But in this particular draft class, who could that be?

Alabama's Ty Simpson is considered QB2 after first overall pick Fernando Mendoza. MORE: Fernando Mendoza makes specifically perfect sense for Raiders Then there are the likes of Drew Allar, Carson Beck, Garrett Nussmeier, Cole Payton, Taylen Green and more. It's really anyone's guess where any of those guys are drafted, but one apparently has caught the Jets' eyes.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler wrote this in a new article late Wednesday: "My potential sleeper QB for the Jets in the middle rounds is Carson Beck (Miami). " That'd be a fascinating selection. Beck has been praised in the pre-draft process for his overall football knowledge.
