Gary Neville rips into “clueless” Chelsea owners after Liam Rosenior’s departure Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has ripped into Chelsea owners following the departure of manager Liam Rosenior. The Chelsea hierarchy decided to sack the Englishman less than four months after he succeeded Enzo Maresca, following a damaging run of terrible performances and results. Tuesday night’s 3-0 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium was the final straw for the club as their quest for Champions League football took yet another massive hit.
That result marked a fifth consecutive defeat in the Premier League, while the Blues also failed to score a single goal in that abysmal run. Rather than lay into Rosenior for his performance, Neville has instead directed his criticism at the Chelsea owners, questioning their long-term plan for the club. “This policy at Chelsea, this plan, I don’t see it,” Neville told Sky Sports .
“These six and eight-year agreements that they give – it’s almost laughable from the start, whether it be for a manager or a player. “The owners haven’t got a clue what they are doing. I’ve made massive mistakes as an owner, and sometimes you’ve got to accept you don’t know what you’re doing.
“They are all over the place. I just don’t get it. You deserve what you get in football, and that’s every single ownership, and it’s a reflection upon them, not the coach.
