Harry S. Truman graduate David Blay Jr, a defensive tackle at Miami, could end up being selected in 2026 NFL Draft

Former Harry S. Truman standout David Blay Jr is hoping to get caught in the 2026 NFL Draft. Blay, a 6-foot-2, 292-pound defensive tackle, is projected to go in the sixth round by Pro Football Network , which would be the draft’s third and final day (Saturday).

The site lists him from pick range No. 190-213. “First and foremost, it feels like a blessing and something only God can create to be able to see the fruits of my labor paying off coming from our area,” Blay said.

BNB Football ranks Blay as the No. 42 defensive tackle this year, which the site believes would mean he isn’t drafted. If Blay isn’t taken in the seven-round draft, he’d likely be invited to a team’s rookie camp.

Blay had a solid senior season for CFP National Championship finalist Miami , registering 28 tackles, including six in a win over rival Florida, and bolstering the Hurricanes ’ stellar run defense. Blay, from Levittown, began his collegiate career at Division II West Chester, then went to FBS school Louisiana Tech before transferring to Miami a year ago. He earned a bachelor’s degree in American studies in December.
