Rajasthan Royals secured a commanding 40-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants, thanks to a disciplined bowling performance. Despite a strong bowling effort from LSG's Shami and Mohsin, a batting collapse saw them bundled out for 119. Jadeja's all-round contribution proved crucial for RR's win.

NEW DELHI: A clinical bowling display powered Rajasthan Royals to a comprehensive 40-run win over Lucknow Super Giants, as a promising effort with the ball from Mohammed Shami and Co. went in vain due to a shocking batting collapse. Chasing a modest 160, LSG never found momentum and were bundled out for just 119 in 18 overs.

The slide began with skipper Rishabh Pant falling to an ill-judged sweep, triggering a collapse that exposed the fragility of the middle order. Shami, Mohsin shine in vain Earlier, it was Shami who set the tone with a masterclass in seam bowling. His twin strikes — removing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel off successive deliveries — rocked RR early.

Alongside him, Mohsin Khan used bounce and movement effectively to dismiss teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Shimron Hetmyer. The impressive Prince Yadav added further bite with two wickets, ensuring RR were restricted to a below-par 159/6. The trio combined to bowl a remarkable number of dot balls, strangling the Royals’ scoring rate.

However, their efforts were undone by an undisciplined chase. While Mitchell Marsh fought with a gritty 55, wickets kept tumbling at the other end. Poor shot selection from the likes of Nicholas Pooran and others meant LSG never truly threatened the target.
