Ducati's First Run with 850cc MotoGP Bike is a 'Very Good' Experience
First official in-season test Ducati's first run of its 850cc MotoGP bike has impressed team members, marking the start of preparations for a new era in motorsports.
After testing its brand-new 850cc bike for the upcoming MotoGP technical era, Ducati boss Gigi Dall’Igna expressed his team’s positive first impressions. Michele Pirro rode the Desmosedici GP27 at Misano on April 13, ensuring everything was working as expected ahead of a more comprehensive test programme next week at Mugello. Dall’Igna confirmed they will continue testing the bike the following day and praised Ducati’s extensive preparation for the new era: ‘The first impression of the bike was very good,’ he said.
‘Everything worked well and the bike is ready for further testing. ’ As MotoGP moves towards 2027 with a switch to Pirelli tyres, Ducati’s efforts are seen as crucial in developing their riders and engineers for the new era.
