Detroit — What's on general manager Steve Yzerman's mind after another season of the Red Wings missing the playoffs? Fans are about to find out, as Yzerman and coach Todd McLellan will hold their season-ending press conferences Thursday morning at Little Caesars Arena. The Wings failed to qualify for the playoffs for a 10th consecutive season, the longest such streak currently in the NHL.

Yzerman was hired seven years ago and has been unable to steer the Wings into the postseason tournament. The Wings were officially eliminated on April 11, in a loss at LCA to New Jersey , which led the sellout crowd to boo the Wings off the ice at game's conclusion in the final home game of the season. After the Wings' ended the season with an embarrassing 8-1 loss in Florida , McLellan met with reporters for approximately 45 seconds before cutting short the interview, disgusted by the way his team played.
