Kyle Pitts had a productive 2025 campaign with the Atlanta Falcons , but the dynamic tight end still failed to land a long-term extension from the team.

Atlanta placed the franchise tag on Pitts earlier this offseason, keeping the former first-round pick under contract for another season. Though Pitts is a pivotal piece to the Falcons' offense and should return as one of the top players at his position, it sounds like the star tight end's days in Atlanta could be numbered. Kyle Pitts could get traded during 2026 NFL Draft During an episode of his podcast, ESPN's Adam Schefter says the Falcons are open to trading Pitts, as general manager Ian Cunningham wants to add more picks.

"I would watch to see if they [the Falcons] can find a trade partner for Kyle Pitts, who they are open to dealing," Schefter said on his podcast on Monday. "Ian Cunningham, in his first draft, wants to move back and get more picks. " The Falcons don't have a first-round pick and have just five selections in the draft, so trading back would make a lot of sense.

However, Atlanta could also acquire additional picks by trading away Pitts, who could net them a Day 2 pick on the market. Chiefs are possible trade partner for Pitts with Falcons As for which teams could show interest in Pitts, the Kansas City Chiefs immediately jump out as a possible landing spot. Though Travis Kelce is set to return for a 14th season with the Chiefs, Andy Reid's offense could use more explosiveness.
