Showers and storms are likely to be in the forecast for at least part of the festivities. The green flag waves at 3 p.
m. Sunday, and while the forecast is still far off, the weather will need to be monitored for any delays. The Forecast Talladega is one of my favorite races of the year.
And no, it is not because of "Talladega Nights" — although I do love that movie. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the forecast is not looking good for Talladega events this weekend. It is still several days away, though, so continue to check back with us for the latest.
Friday Should you want to head down early to camp out at Talladega, something I long to do, Friday is your best day — at least during the day. By the evening hours, clouds will increase, and eventually, a chance of thunderstorms is forecast after midnight. A high in the 80s is expected.
