New Steelers wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. says he's spoken to Aaron Rodgers but not about his contract and is giving him his space.

The biggest move of the Pittsburgh Steelers offseason so far was the trade with the Indianapolis Colts to bring in starting wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. After struggling in the passing game all of last season, adding Pittman to DK Metcalf gives the Steelers one of the best tandems in the AFC. It should be a place a quarterback would want to play, right?

We ask because as everyone knows, free-agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers is once again leading on the Steelers in the offseason while he ponders his future and if he will come back for another season. This situation is something the newest Steelers wide receiver talked about in a recent interview and while he said he's been in communication with Rodgers, it was not to talk contract and he's giving Rodgers his space while he decides. "Just giving him his space and his time and if he decides to come back, then that's great, we would love him back," Pittman said.

"Obviously, I think he might be the current player who's done the most in the NFL. He's a four-time MVP. I think that his resume speaks for itself, and obviously thereโ€™s his long-standing history with coach McCarthy, so we'll see what happens.

" Most who are connected to the team seem to believe it is just a matter of when and not if Rodgers will sign with the Steelers for 2026. This article originally appeared on Steelers Wire: New Steelers WR says he's giving Aaron Rodgers space about contract
