Early 2026 fantasy expert consensus rankings: Chiefs busts
Heading into the 2026 season, here are the biggest Chiefs busts based on early fantasy expert consensus rankings
Fantasy expert consensus rankings (“ECR”) are starting to pop up across the Internet, giving managers an early glimpse into how the market might value hundreds of players this summer. As we look ahead to the 2026 season, here are the biggest Chiefs busts based on ECR. Super Bowl MVPs frequently underperform the following year.
They often can’t sustain the hype that over-inflates their preseason rankings. Kenneth Walker’s recent postseason heroics don’t ignore the fact that he was 2025’s RB29 in fantasy points per game. In four NFL seasons, he’s reached the top 16 only once -- an RB12 finish in 2024.
His current ECR is RB11. Some experts might argue that the Chiefs have a more powerful offense. But that doesn’t hold water, as Seattle scored the third-most points last year.
In fact, the Seahawks also had the stingiest defense, which led to run-heavy game plans that benefited Walker. Others might argue that, unlike in recent seasons, Kansas City doesn’t have a strong #2 RB, meaning Walker should earn bell-cow usage. Except Walker has never been a high-volume RB.
