BYU Basketball Recruiting Notebook: Transfer Portal Closed, Roster Needs Clear

Players had until 11:59 pm April 21 to notify their schools of their intentions to enter the portal.
We’ll hear of some players across college hoops entering the portal over the next 48 hours as schools process the paperwork, but now coaches don’t have to worry about current players leaving that they’ve expected to have back. With the portal deadline passed, BYU’s current roster is becoming more clear. Current Roster BYU has 11 players penciled in for next season.
Returnees Rob Wright Khadim Mboup Nate Pickens Brody Kozlowski Dawson Baker Dawson Baker suffered a major knee injury that ended his season prematurely. Sources have told me he will utilize a medical redshirt and is expected to return for his seventh (! ) season of college basketball.

Barring any changes from the above, BYU has four roster spots to fill. I expect BYU to add two big men, one guard, and another player who costs next to no money (similiar to Andrej Kostic last year).
BYU could also keep that 15th roster spot vacant and use it for a midseason addition. That would give the team flexibility to add from the European ranks in case of injury or other needs. Big man is clearly the biggest need.
