Prep Roundup: Late homer sends West Morgan past Brewer
Apr. 22—TRINITY — Ailey Sackett singled home a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to propel West Morgan past Brewer 5-4 in high school softball on Tuesday. Chasity Rikard tripled and drove in a pair of runs for the Rebels, while Melea Harris and Hatleigh White added two hits and one RBI each.
Alyssa Cleveland pitched all eight innings for the win, striking out four. Kaelyn Matkin, Mackenzie Irmen and Taylor Pellem had one hit and one RBI each for Brewer. — West Morgan 5, Brewer 0: Rikard tossed a five-hit shutout for West Morgan, allowing two walks with six strikeouts over seven innings.
