Nebraska baseball drops battle with Kansas 9-7
Nebraska traveled down to Kansas for the second and final clash of the season. The Huskers fell once again to the Jayhawks, suffering a 9-7 defeat.
Nebraska baseball (31-10) traveled down to Kansas (30-11) for the second and final clash of the season. The Huskers fell once again to the Jayhawks, suffering a 9-7 defeat. Nebraska got the lead in the first third, going up 4-3 by the end of the third.
Both teams grew quiet at the plate until the sixth. Kansas scored six straight, posting three runs in the sixth and seventh to take a 9-4 lead. The Huskers closed the deficit to two after scoring three runs in the eighth, but the Jayhawks shut them down in the ninth.
Nebraska finished with 10 hits and one error, while Kansas totaled 12 hits. Drew Grego picked up two RBIs for the Huskers after batting 2-for-3 in the loss. Will Jesske , Mac Moyer , Dylan Carey and Jett Buck contributed one RBI each.
Jesske finished 2-for-3 with a double and scored twice. Moyer batted 2-for-5. Carey, Case Sanderson , Joshua Overbeek and Rhett Stokes all recorded one hit apiece.
