After surprisingly erupting for eight runs on 12 hits against the Detroit Tigers on Monday, the Boston Red Sox immediately crashed back to earth on Tuesday, losing 4-0 to the New York Yankees. The Red Sox couldn't get anything going against Luis Gil and the Yankees' bullpen, mustering just four hits and three walks in their second shutout loss of the year. It was another poor performance by Boston's offense, which has scored two runs or less in four of its last five games, all at Fenway Park .
